Aletta BradyFOUNDER & VISIONING DIRECTORAletta (they) is a queer writer, organizer, and strategist from Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are a member of the U.S. National Commission for UNESCO's Youth Working Group, and a former Fulbright Research Fellow in Jordan. They are trilingual in English, Spanish, and Levantine Arabic. They previously worked as a Program Analyst at the EPA and a Research Associate at the Environmental Law Institute. They are passionate about the power of storytelling, climate justice, and youth organizing. They received their B.A. with Honors from Wesleyan University in 2015. In their free time, they love rowing, boxing, and biking along the Mississippi.

Sophia (she/her) is a proud native of Grenada, the spice island of the West Indies. She is an

environmental justice and climate change activist living in New York City. 

She graduated with her BSc. in Life Science and MPH from St. George’s University in Grenada, and MSc.

in Natural Resource and Environmental Management from the University of the West Indies in

Barbados. She is currently an Environmental Science lecturer with the City University of New York and

enjoys exercising, watching documentaries, and spending time with her family.

Kia is a researcher, powerful social justice advocate, and youth worker from St. Paul, Minnesota. She is an organizer with low-income and homeless communities in the Twin Cities, and works as a personal trainer encouraging women to embrace their thickness while staying fit. She graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2013 with a B.A. in Biology and Spanish. After graduation, she completed an English Teaching Fulbright in Lima, Peru. In her free time, you can find her in the gym, gaming, or dancing with friends.

Alexandra (she/her) is a recent architecture graduate passionate about urbanism, sustainability, and equitable development. She is one of the founders of the Diversity Working Group at the Carleton School of Architecture -- a group dedicated to advocating for equitable curriculums and learning opportunities, and fostering understanding and activism on BIPOC issues in the design community. Alex enjoys reading in the park, upcycling found items, and making collages.

She is interested in bridging the gap between online grassroots climate change activism and academia. She has a BSc in Biochemistry and a BASc in Chemical engineering. In her free time she enjoys biking, painting, swimming and hanging out with friends and family.

STORYTELLING FELLOW

Angel is a recent high school graduate from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland who has been organizing for the past four years. As the co-founder and president of her school’s Student Demand Action chapter, hub lead of her community’s Sunrise chapter, and the Creative Lead of the Connecticut chapter of US Youth Climate Strikes, Angel has worked closely with her community’s Climate Action Network on various environmental issues. Angel hopes to double major in environmental studies and political science in the future so that she can be better positioned to fight the climate issues that most directly affect poor Black and Latinx communities.
